The Blood of the Stars

As silence builds within
I build within

A staircase  made of the fluid of the stars,
Their cardinal beams pounded quietly into place by my heart

A passageway of many steps and of many years
Of meditation vital to its elevation

Flights of nerves and veins
Whose densities unravel with every breath

Flowing within the blood of starlight
I ascend this gossamer stairwell in silence

A winding conduit of stairs and stars
Stirring up the vertebrae in floors and planes

Vestibule upon vestibule of
Of inner-space

Hollows inside a remote place,
Recesses from time constructed of emptiness

Floor upon floor into a vaster anatomy
I mount another stair in utter stillness

And stare fixedly into the stairwell's advance
Transfusing in nexuses of lymph  and synapses

Of subtle blood of stars and neural paths
Stretching beyond my body

The stars fresh transfusions of blood
Pouring down and down

My arteries flush with aethers
My blood the blood of the stars

I build with what builds within my veins
A shelter for the heart of space

One floor at a time, each lain upon a single breath
A doorway between life and death

I reach for now the final floor
Where all constructions cease

I light my consciousness aflame with peace
And let my heart lay down its hammer

There I sit me down and receive
And sit me down and receive.
